Nigel in the Studio

I could tell you about starting my photography career back in the heady days of film, chemicals and darkrooms, the tense anxious wait to see if I’d captured the images…..but less of that.

It’s an exciting profession to be in, its creative, sociable, you’re part of a team where communication is vital if you are going to deliver stunning images. I’d like to think by virtue of being a professional photographer for over 25yrs and supplying some of my clients for the same time, that I am fulfilling the brief!

As a professional photographer its not just about the photograph, that’s the end result, its about the organisational skills to make things happen, to meet deadlines, arrange travel and liaise with the client, customer or agency, keeping everyone in the loop. Every assignment is important to me, a cliché you might think, no, it really is. I’m passionate about image making and nothing excites me more than seeing my images in print, social media or in brochures, I’ve done my job.

As the name suggests, “Locations Photography”, yes I’m a specialist on-site, taking lighting, cameras and safety equipment to all parts of the UK, Europe and occasionally world wide to achieve “the shot” and that’s just on the stills side….did I mention shooting video?

There aren’t many photographers that can truly say they have the knowledge of shooting video! I really do. For a few years I was fortunate enough to manage a video production company, alongside a photographic studio, where I picked up all the skills required to shoot, direct, edit and produce commercial video. I love it, enhanced by new technology, its great fun, opening more opportunities to be super creative.

Please have a browse through the web site, I’d be happy to hear your thoughts and of course should you have any photographic or video requirements, drop me a line or better still give me a ring, its often best to talk…I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers Nigel Spreadbury

Professional Photography with a cutting edge
Nigel at Locations Photography has provided dilapidation, progress and completion photography on a number of construction projects I have worked on. Always up for a challenge Nigel has always been quick to adapt to the different environments while capturing ongoing activities on construction sites. Most recently, providing a detailed video log of a completed residential scheme as part of the handover process. It has always been a pleasure working with Nigel and I look forward to the opportunity of using Locations Photography again in the future.
Phillip Downham, Programme Director, BOOST Implementation
Nigel has been a trusted supplier to the agency for more than 25 years. He has repeatedly moved heaven and earth to get the pictures we need to make a project really stand out for a client. We know we can call Nigel and ask him to travel anywhere, and at a moment’s notice, to complete an urgent assignment – and he never misses a deadline. Naturally, he’s regarded by me and my colleagues as an extension of our team.

I first met and engaged Nigel in August 2002. I was sufficiently impressed with his ability, creativity and artistic flare to perceive, light and produce, excellent and inventive photography on location. That was 15 years ago and I have continued to use and enjoy the results, his talent and can-do attitude, since my first experience of him. This has also included car photography in an infinity cove studio which brings its own many and different disciplines in which Nigel is well schooled. I am happy to recommend him.
